The restart of my blog

It's interesting to look back in time and where you were. I was walking down from my apartment in Jersey City to get some lunch before college football started. The weather is slightly cool and crisp. Basically it's comfortable with a jacket. It reminded me so much of growing up in Michigan. Around this time of year, my family would take a trip out to the apple orchards and go apple picking. There's nothing like having fresh warm cider and old fashioned donuts to warm you up. The place was called Blake's Orchard and it's still open. Sometimes they would have German/Polish food, so if it got late we would have dinner there too.

I decided to save this thought or feeling. I haven't written in over two years. I had just gotten into Oxford for my MBA and over the next few months I was concentrating on my move to the U.K. I managed to a little FX trading allowing me to regain some of losses of a weakening dollar, but it still ended up being more expensive then I initially factored for. I met some great friends over the next year and they are now all over the world.

I finished up last year and an internship the Walt Disney Corporation in Paris. While I have been to Paris before, I never spent an extended amount of time there before. I took a trip down the Nice and I highly recommend it to anyone (though I wish the beaches were sandy and not rocky). I moved to the New York area and a couple of interviews taking a job at a small investment bank. Unfortunately that job is wrapping up and I have been forced to look for a new job in a pretty scary environment. But then I was an attorney trying to find a new job after Sept. 11th when my political appointment ended, so I have faith that this period will not last long. I am not sure what is the equivalent of fresh cider and donuts in the cold environment of job searching but I could sure use it right now.
